properties of superconductors

Good conductors of electricity such as sliver, copper, and aluminum, etc are unable to obtain the condition of super conductivity, it meaning is that it is not essential that good conductor can be converted in super conductor. Some conductor like zinc, tin, tentalium, etc., Obtain super conductivity fastly in compare to good conductor.

properties of superconductors

Antimon, bismath, telurium, etc are such metal which convert in super conductor at minimum Temperature and high pressure. In pure metals, range of transition temperature is 0.01°k to 9.15°k for making of super conductor. Those conductor which are made from pure metal are called super conductor.

Properties of superconductor:-

1. The current in the superconductor moves for a long period of time.
2. A current is induced in the superconductive ring by magnetic field.
3. The properties of superconductive occur when the metal is high resistivity.
4. Diamagnetism is essential property for superconductor.
5. The flux density of superconductor is zero.
6. The thermal conductivity of superconductor is low in other State.
7. All thermoelectric effect disappear in the superconductor state.
8. Superconductivity is does not occure in nobile matel like Gold, and silver.

Discovery of super conductor:-

Scientist "Berndt T Mattias" of America invented only Nibobium steroid super conductor in 1954 which was super conductor of high transition temperature, but recently above scientist has invented Nbo-79 alloys which transition temperature of Nibobium germanide is 23.2°K . In present time search of superconductor in high transition temperature is contionsly. At present time 30 soft super conductor and 600 hard alloy super conductor are inverted.

Super conductivity:-

Super conductivity is a important research, the research works depends upon minimum temperature, so this technique could not be used completely till now. Many research labs of the whole world are paying their attention on super conductivity.

We already study that resistivity of metals increases of temperature and decrease with the decrease with the decreasing of it's temperature. The condition of metal in which it's resistivity reduced to zero known as super conductivity of the metal. There are some metals and chemical compund those resistivity reduce to zero at 0°K in this condition these metals and compounds get super conductivity.

In 1877 - 1895, oxygen and nitrogen gas were converted in liquid gas at low temperature in research lab and in 1911 in Leyden University of nether land, scientist Heke kamrindh once has searched the super conductivity. He observed that at 4.5°K resistivity of Mercury reduce to approximately zero, if current is applied in a ring of Mercury at 4.5°K it continuously flow from five years.

Super conductor rings of Mercury and lead produce the very strong magnetic filed when very large current induced in these super conductor rings.
