Why transformer gives humping sounds?
A transformer is an electrical device which convert low alternative voltage to high alternative and vice-versa. It is consists of two sets of coils which are separated through soft iron core. The supply current is connected to primary coil or primary winding and load are connected to to secondary winding. Hence, the primary coil is the input coil and the secondary coil is the output coil of transformer.
The core of the transformer is made of small sheet which are insulated to each other. When flux travel in the core it's acts as a magnet. So, it pass magnetic field through it.
According to electromagnetic induction, whenever a current flow through the coil then it's produce magnetic flux. Which are linked by the soft iron core and passed through the secondary coil. At this process when the flux transfer from primary coil to secondary coil through the soft iron core produce humping sound.
