Why transformer gives humping sounds?

Why transformer gives humping sounds?

A transformer is an electrical device which convert low alternative voltage to high alternative and vice-versa. It is consists of two sets of coils which are separated through soft iron core. The supply current is connected to primary coil or primary winding and load are connected to to secondary winding. Hence, the primary coil is the input coil and the secondary coil is the output coil of transformer.

Why transformer gives humping sounds?

The core of the transformer is made of small sheet which are insulated to each other. When flux travel in the core it's acts as a magnet. So, it pass magnetic field through it.

According to electromagnetic induction, whenever a current flow through the coil then it's produce magnetic flux. Which are linked by the soft iron core and passed through the secondary coil. At this process when the flux transfer from primary coil to secondary coil through the soft iron core produce humping sound.

Principal of transformer:-

Transformer work on the principal of mutual induction. This will be detail study in working in transformer.

Working of transformer:-

As ac flow through primary coil, the varying megnetic field produce inside the coil and as a, result, the magnetic flux linked with soft iron core  and passes through the secondary coil.

This change in the flux in secondary coil produce induced emf in it the produce induced emf in it, the relating value of number of turn of secondary coil is increases are decrease, the input and output voltage.

World biggest transformer:-

Why transformer gives humping sounds?

The world biggest transformer is made by "SIEMENS the future moves in" company. Siemens is a German company which made HVDC transformer. This company makes a lot of biggest device like circuit breaker, transformer, turbine etc. This transformer is 1100 kv HVDC voltage which is complete in 2018.
